On April 11, the 12th Energy Storage International Summit and Exhibition (ESIE 2024) kicked off at the Beijing Shougang Convention Center. Trina Solar, committed to being a global leader in smart energy solutions for light and storage, showcased its large-scale, industrial, and residential storage products, achieving full-scene coverage of storage products. The newly mass-produced next-generation flexible energy storage battery module, Elementa 2, made its debut in China and will commence deliveries in May, reaching the climax of the event. Trina Solar also released the industry’s first “Specialized Energy Storage Cell White Paper” at the exhibition, attracting significant attention on-site.
Next-Generation Flexible Energy Storage
The next-generation flexible energy storage battery module, Elementa 2, unveiled at the exhibition, has attracted widespread attention and inquiries from visitors. Lower investment costs, higher energy storage throughput, and a safer system have become strong demands and consensuses for the development of new-era power storage systems. Trina Solar’s next-generation flexible energy storage battery module, Elementa 2, comprehensively meets these three demands of the new-era power storage.
Cost Reduction and Efficiency Enhancement
With a focus on reducing costs and enhancing efficiency, Trina Solar’s next-generation flexible energy storage battery module, Elementa 2, is equipped with self-developed 314Ah high-energy-density battery cells. Through upgrades in battery cells, Pack battery packs, and compartment capacity, the battery compartment achieves high integration and density, significantly improving space utilization and reducing site area by 31%. It balances capacity and cost perfectly, reducing initial investment and subsequent operation costs significantly.
Enhanced Safety and Efficiency
The Elementa 2 battery module adopts a “one cluster, one management” approach, increasing energy throughput by 7% and eliminating safety hazards caused by inter-cluster circulation from the source. In terms of system safety, the Elementa 2 battery module is equipped with battery cells that comply with automotive-grade safety standards, self-developed high thermal stability separators and positive electrode materials, enhancing intrinsic battery safety. With refined thermal management, a comprehensive safety protection line is built to ensure the overall safety of the energy storage system.
Diversified Applications
The Elementa 2 battery module can be matched with various AC and DC coupling schemes such as centralized, decentralized, and series-parallel, providing greater flexibility and differentiated product solutions based on scenarios for the entire industry, comprehensively meeting customer needs. Trina Solar announced that the Elementa 2 battery module is currently in mass production and will commence deliveries in May. The fusion of light and storage is upgraded, and the industry’s first specialized energy storage cell white paper is released.
The Trina Core 306Ah and 314Ah were showcased at the exhibition, while the industry’s first “Specialized Energy Storage Cell White Paper” attracted the interest of many attendees. As the core of energy storage systems, batteries account for about 60% of the entire energy storage system cost, underscoring their importance. As a provider of energy storage products and solutions with “core” technology, Trina Solar insists on independent research and development of Trina Core, mastering the technical core of the development, testing, and validation of battery cells.
Continuing to adhere to the mission of “using solar energy to benefit all mankind,” Trina Solar is committed to becoming a global leader in smart energy solutions for light and storage, promoting the transformation of the new power system, creating a beautiful carbon-free new world, and providing better light storage solutions with dual-wheel drive of photovoltaics and energy storage. It constructs a perfect light storage fusion ecosystem, promotes the penetration of new energy, and drives the healthy and high-quality development of the light storage industry.
