Attentive Energy Two Project Chosen for 20-Year Contract
TotalEnergies, in partnership with Corio Generation, has been awarded a 20-year contract by the State of New Jersey for their Attentive Energy Two offshore wind project. The project will supply 1.34 GW of renewable electricity to the state, catering to the power needs of over 650,000 homes. The joint venture, with TotalEnergies holding a 70% stake and Corio 30%, received this contract through the state’s third competitive OREC (Offshore Renewable Energy Credits) solicitation.
Significant Community Investments and Commissioning Timeline
The Attentive Energy Two project is expected to contribute up to $105 million in community investments across New Jersey. The partners aim for commissioning by 2031. The project’s profitability is secured through guaranteed OREC revenue, starting at $131 per MWh, inflating yearly by 3%. Additionally, it benefits from a 30% IRA tax credit, ensuring financial viability.
Commitment to Renewable Energy in the U.S.
Vincent Stoquart, Senior Vice President Renewables at TotalEnergies, expressed gratitude for New Jersey’s selection, emphasizing the project’s contribution to local economies and offshore wind supply chains. This success follows the provisional award in October 2023 for a 25-year supply contract to Attentive Energy One by the State of New York.
Jonathan Cole, CEO of Corio Generation, highlighted the positive impact on New Jersey residents and the regional economy, considering the clean energy delivered by the Attentive Energy Two project.
