TotalEnergies has surpassed 200 MWp of operating solar assets across nine countries for over 190 B2B commercial customer sites in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This achievement highlights TotalEnergies’ commitment to supporting customers’ decarbonization efforts across various industries.
Expanding Solar Energy Solutions
TotalEnergies operates distributed generation solutions in Singapore, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and new markets South Korea and Taiwan. This makes it one of the fastest-growing international providers of integrated distributed solar energy solutions in APAC.
Since 2018, and through a joint venture with Japanese partner ENEOS since 2022, TotalEnergies has offered renewable electricity to B2B customers via long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). TotalEnergies develops, finances, builds, and operates solar PV systems on rooftops, carports, vacant industrial land, and ponds. These solutions provide significant bill savings and predictable electricity prices while reducing carbon footprints.
Innovative Solar Technology Developments
TotalEnergies employs a multi-technology approach, including solar + BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and floating solar solutions. This innovation ensures maximum efficiency and reliability for its customers.
Their professionalism and technical expertise throughout the lifecycle of projects, from construction to operations, have proven beneficial for industrial customers in carbon-intensive sectors such as steel, chemicals, industrial gases, and manufacturing.
Notable Solar Projects in Operation
Recent TotalEnergies projects include:
- 4.8 MWp with Indo Kordsa in Indonesia
- 6.7 MWp with PTT Global Chemical in Thailand
- 6 MWp with Chin Well Fasteners in Vietnam
These projects showcase TotalEnergies’ operational expertise and ability to cater to diverse energy needs across different industries.
Commitment to Sustainable Energy
“I am pleased to achieve this milestone in a region full of opportunities. This showcases our capacity to deploy projects across different geographies and industries, and highlights the appeal of our solutions for both local and global companies across APAC, providing them with a solution for reliable, cost-effective and clean energy. I am proud to mark this landmark figure that brings us closer to our goal to achieve 2 GW of decentralized solar capacity in the region,” said Elodie Renaud, Director of TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation Asia.
TotalEnergies’ Renewable Energy Goals
TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation is a major international provider of integrated distributed solar energy solutions, with 1.5 GW of projects in construction and operation worldwide. In Asia, TotalEnergies is one of the largest and fastest-growing players in renewable energy distributed generation for commercial and industrial customers.
TotalEnergies aims to achieve net zero by 2050 by building a competitive portfolio combining renewables like solar and wind with flexible assets such as CCGT and storage. By the end of 2023, TotalEnergies’ gross renewable electricity generation capacity was 22 GW, with a target of 35 GW by 2025 and over 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030.
