Sunnova Solar + Storage Systems Power Nearly 3,000 Customers During Hurricane Beryl

Solar Energy Systems Prove Resilient in Houston

Sunnova Energy International, Inc. (NYSE: NOVA), a leading adaptive energy services company, successfully powered almost 3,000 Houston homes during Hurricane Beryl from July 8 to July 15. During this period, while local utility grids failed, Sunnova’s solar energy systems generated 485,249 kWh of energy, ensuring continued power for its customers.

“We’re proud of our track record of maintaining power during disasters,” said William J. (John) Berger, President and CEO of Sunnova. “During a critical moment for Houston’s power infrastructure, Sunnova delivered when local utilities could not. Nearly 3,000 customers kept their lights on, food cold, and families safe. This demonstrates that solar + storage systems protect homeowners during grid outages, providing resilient, clean energy backed by industry-leading service.”

Proven Strength and Resiliency

Sunnova’s solar + storage systems have consistently proven their durability in storms across the U.S. and its territories. During Hurricane Beryl, 96% of Sunnova SunSafe® systems in Houston required no repairs. For the few that did, Sunnova quickly dispatched crews to perform necessary maintenance.

“Solar + storage adoption is accelerating as people recognize its value as a resilient energy source,” said Michael Grasso, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at Sunnova. “Distributed energy from these power plants will increasingly support U.S. utility grids. Our systems ensure reliable off-grid power when the centralized grid fails.”

Expanding Energy Independence

Sunnova serves over 400,000 customers across 51 U.S. states and territories. The company is dedicated to transforming the energy landscape by making clean energy more accessible, reliable, and affordable for homeowners and businesses.
