Ssangyong E&C Secures $57 Million Solar Energy Project in Haiti

Winning Bid for Solar Power Plant and Energy Storage System

Ssangyong Engineering & Construction (Ssangyong E&C) declared its triumph in securing the final order for a solar power plant and Energy Storage System (ESS) construction and operation project in Haiti. The Haitian Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) commissioned this initiative.

Project Details and Financing

The $57 million project encompasses the construction and operation of a 12 MW solar power plant and a 10 MWh energy storage system. The primary objective is to supply electricity to the Caracol industrial park for a five-year duration. Notably, this stable project is financially supported by the Inter-American Development Bank.

Strategic Entry into Caribbean/Latin American Market

This marks Ssangyong E&C’s inaugural venture into the Caribbean/Latin American construction market. The project stands as a significant milestone achieved with the backing of the Global Sae-A group, Ssangyong E&C’s main shareholder. The company envisions using this success as a foundation for future expansion in Latin America, focusing on countries like Costa Rica, Dominica, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.
