Delamain Solar Farm Limited, a Dublin-based company established last year, is set to transform the east of Kildare with a groundbreaking solar facility. The project, with a construction value estimated at €197 million, is expected to be operational for an impressive 40-year lifespan, exporting up to 210 megawatts of electricity at its peak.
Development Details
Spanning approximately 246 hectares across townlands including Brannockstown, Brownstown, Carnalway, and others, the solar farm will boast 1,130,000 square meters of solar photovoltaic panels mounted on ground frames. The comprehensive plans also encompass four one-story spare parts containers, forty one-story electrical inverter/transformer stations, weather stations, and underground electrical ducting.
Sustainable Infrastructure
Designed with environmental consciousness, the facility includes landscaping, temporary construction compounds, CCTV, security fencing, and access tracks. Despite the presence of protected structures on Harristown House land within the development area, no work is scheduled for these structures, ensuring the preservation of historical elements.
Strategic Access Points
To facilitate construction and operational activities, access points via local routes such as R412, R413, L6044, L6047, and L6063 have been strategically planned. The forward-thinking approach of Delamain Solar Farm Limited aligns with the growing demand for sustainable energy sources, marking a significant stride toward renewable power in the region.
