SJVN Aims for 23 GW Renewable Energy by 2030: Geeta Kapur Reveals Strategy

SJVN Ltd.’s subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy, under the leadership of Chairperson Geeta Kapur, unveiled ambitious plans to bolster its renewable energy portfolio. Kapur revealed the company’s aspirations in an exclusive interview with NDTV Profit.

Ambitious Targets and Strategic Expansion

Chairperson Geeta Kapur outlined the company’s vision, stating, “Our hands are full, and we propose to commission at least 23 GW of renewable energy by 2030.” To achieve this goal, SJVN Green Energy plans to incorporate approximately 1.5–2 GW of renewable energy annually.

Current Progress and Future Endeavors

Currently, SJVN Green Energy boasts 4 MW of installed capacity, with an additional 4.9 GW under construction. The company aims to add another 2 GW by the end of the quarter concluding in March. Revenue from these new projects is anticipated to commence in the financial year 2025–26, as indicated by Kapur.

Strategic Project Wins and Regional Expansion

Highlighting recent successes, Kapur mentioned the acquisition of a project in Rajasthan, securing 500 MW of capacity. This project win marks a significant stride towards SJVN Green Energy’s expansion into various regions.
