Abuja, Nigeria – Elohor Aboni, the Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), has emerged as the recipient of the prestigious ‘2023 Energy Personality Award’ at the Nigeria International Energy Summit held in Abuja.

A Trailblazer in the Oil and Gas Sector
With a background in chemical engineering, Elohor has been a trailblazer in the oil and gas industry since joining Shell in 2002. Her diverse roles have spanned production operations, project and asset management, and operations readiness and assurance. She has effectively managed third-party interfaces across multiple Shell assets in Nigeria and Kazakhstan.
Leadership Milestones at SNEPCo
Elohor assumed the role of Managing Director at SNEPCo in 2021, making history as the first woman in this leadership position. Under her guidance, SNEPCo achieved significant milestones, particularly at Bonga, Nigeria’s inaugural deep-water production site. Notably, Bonga celebrated a momentous achievement in February 2023, surpassing a 1-billion-barrel oil export mark.
