Sensata Technologies (NYSE: ST) has introduced the SGX Series contactors, including the SGX150, SGX250, and SGX400 models. These new contactors are designed for low-power applications requiring reliable switching and efficient design, such as residential energy storage systems, DC fast charging stations, and industrial applications like electric forklifts and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV).
Advanced Technology and Robust Design
The SGX Series utilizes ceramic-to-metal weld technology, offering several advantages. These contactors are hermetically sealed for optimal breaking capabilities and can handle temperatures up to 175°C while managing over-current conditions effectively. The gas backfilled (primarily hydrogen) design results in low and stable contact resistance. Tailored for residential Energy Storage Systems (ESS), DC fast charging, and industrial applications, these contactors comply with IEC 60664-1 and RoHS standards and are expected to receive UL certification by early Q3 2024.
Optimal Performance for Energy Applications
The SGX Series contactors provide optimal breaking capabilities for applications up to 1000V and continuous current carry of 150A, 250A, and 400A respectively. Their efficient design ensures reliable switching and longevity, featuring a compact square form-factor.
