Empowering 60,000 Households
The Romanian government has initiated a comprehensive subsidy program, aiming to assist 60,000 households in adopting renewable energy solutions and enhancing energy efficiency.
Program Objectives and Funding Breakdown
Aligned with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan’s REPowerEU chapter, the program focuses on photovoltaic panels, batteries, and energy-efficient home improvements. The substantial funding of EUR 1.4 billion includes EUR 1.2 billion specifically earmarked for photovoltaic panels and batteries.
Detailed Voucher System
Households interested in the program can benefit from vouchers, with a maximum of RON 25,000 (EUR 5,000) allocated for photovoltaic panels and an additional RON 25,000 for storage capacity (batteries). This provides a substantial financial incentive, allowing eligible households to receive up to EUR 10,000.
Simplified Application and Coverage
To streamline the process, the application procedure is designed to be straightforward, emphasizing citizen convenience. The responsibility for bureaucratic aspects has been shifted to County Councils or mayors, ensuring a hassle-free experience. While the primary focus is on rural households, urban homes are also eligible, broadening the program’s reach to various communities. The ambitious initiative highlights the government’s commitment to advancing renewable energy and fostering energy-efficient practices at the household level.
