Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given the green light to an extensive agriculture tube wells solarization project across the province. This initiative aims to significantly reduce agricultural production costs and support farmers.
Key Details of the Solarization Project
During a meeting in Lahore, CM Nawaz highlighted the project’s benefits, emphasizing its potential to lower costs for agricultural produce. The solarization project targets landowners with up to 25 acres, who will be eligible to participate by covering only 33% of the total project cost.
Phased Implementation of Solar Energy
In the first phase, 7,000 tube wells will be converted to solar energy. An additional 10,000 tube wells will be converted in the second phase. This transition to solar energy is expected to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in Punjab’s agricultural sector.
Special Package for Vegetable Farmers
Chief Minister Nawaz also directed the preparation of a special package specifically for vegetable farmers, further supporting the agricultural community. This initiative aligns with broader green energy policies and the ongoing developments in solar technology.
This project represents a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions in Punjab, reflecting the province’s commitment to renewable energy and agricultural advancement.
