Lithium Battery Breakthrough Unveiled at Energy Storage International Conference

In a groundbreaking move at the 12th Energy Storage International Conference and Expo in Beijing, Ampace, a joint venture of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd and Amperex Technology Limited, has launched its latest energy storage facility, Reno C5.

Revolutionary Features

Reno C5 stands out with its innovative full-temperature range operations, eliminating the need for cooling systems. This advancement promises a remarkable 46 percent cost reduction over a decade, ensuring reliability for commercial and industrial users.

The Technological Leap

Unlike traditional power storage methods, Reno C5 ditches liquid and air-cooling mechanisms prone to battery fluid evaporation and internal damage. This shift is supported by the Kunlun Battery Cell 2.0, boasting upgraded cathode, anode, and electrolyte materials, alongside a double-headed battery tab structure. These enhancements significantly bolster thermal stability, ensuring top-notch reliability and long-cycle performance across diverse working environments.

Safety Measures

Ampace integrates its proprietary “Shield Cell” technology into Reno C5 to mitigate thermal runaway risks. Moreover, the facility incorporates an explosion-relief valve atop the cabinet, offering a safer explosion relief method and safeguarding surrounding personnel and property.

Future Prospects

With mass production scheduled to commence in July, Reno C5 marks a pivotal advancement in the solar energy market. Its groundbreaking features not only elevate energy storage capabilities but also align with green energy policies, driving investment and technological developments in solar technology.

Stay tuned for more updates on the evolving solar market trends and innovative solutions shaping the future of renewable energy.
