LG Energy Solution enblock S Set for U.S. Launch in November

Innovative Residential Energy Storage

LG Energy Solution is poised to launch its new enblock S energy storage system (ESS) in the U.S. this November. This system features a unique stackable design, offering flexibility in energy capacity and power options to meet diverse consumer needs.

Modular and User-Friendly Design

The enblock S system allows for easy customization with options to stack three, four, or five battery module assemblies (BMAs), alongside a specialized battery control unit (BCU). The configurations range from the enblock S 10, with three BMAs providing 10.6 kWh, to the enblock S 17, which offers five BMAs with 17.7 kWh of energy capacity. This modularity supports the parallel connection of two units, doubling the maximum output to 14kW for increased energy demands.

Quick and Efficient Installation

Installation of the enblock S system is notably quick and simple, requiring only 15 minutes with no need for bolts, using a plug-and-play connector. This feature, combined with the choice of wall-mounted or free-standing configurations, makes it suitable for various residential settings, including outdoor installations on uneven terrain.

Safety and Expansion Capabilities

The system is UL9540A compliant, ensuring it meets stringent safety standards to prevent thermal runaway fires, making it safe for both indoor and outdoor installations. For customers looking to expand their energy capacity, additional modules can be added effortlessly, even while the system is in use, to adapt to changing energy needs such as acquiring an electric vehicle.

Future Developments and Monitoring

Later this year, LG Energy Solution will introduce the enblock S+ model, which bundles the enblock S with a new AC-coupled inverter, suitable for retrofitting existing PV systems. This version will be available in backup and arbitrage configurations to enhance flexibility. Additionally, the LG Energy Solution Monitor app allows users to track energy consumption and savings in real-time, further enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.

“With the enblock S, we’re not only providing a flexible and easy-to-install solution but also ensuring the highest safety standards with our UL9540A certification,” said Matthew Unverferth, Residential ESS Sales Manager at LGES ESS Team in North America.
