JA Solar Pioneers in Tibet with 1.1GW Animal Husbandry and PV Project

Introduction

JA Solar has set a new industry standard by successfully delivering 1.1GW of its advanced n-type DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for two innovative animal husbandry and photovoltaic (PV) complementary projects in Tibet Autonomous Region, China. This achievement underscores JA Solar’s leadership in providing robust PV solutions for extreme environments.

Project Details

The projects, located in Angduo Township, Mangkang County, and Gongjue Township, Latuo County, are part of Tibet’s ambitious plans to integrate renewable energy sources with traditional animal husbandry. Notably, the Angduo Township project is currently the largest of its kind under construction globally. JA Solar completed the module supply ahead of schedule, despite the logistical challenges posed by the remote and high-altitude locations.

Technological Excellence

JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules were selected for their exceptional reliability and performance under harsh conditions. These modules have undergone rigorous testing and passed critical evaluations including the IEC standard test and thresher test, along with specialized tests for salt mist corrosion, ammonia corrosion, and dust and sand resistance. They have also proven their resilience under non-uniform snow loads and extreme wind conditions, withstanding winds up to level 17 on the wind scale.

Proven Track Record in Extreme Cold

DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules have demonstrated their capabilities in the coldest regions of China. Following a successful outdoor demonstration in Mohe, known for its severe cold climate, these modules continue to perform exceptionally well. Their application in the Chamdo project in Tibet, which has been operational since November 2023, further attests to their reliability, as confirmed by the CTC National Inspection Group in May 2024.

Executive Insights

Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar, stated, “Our commitment at JA Solar is to push the boundaries of PV technology to ensure performance reliability in the most demanding conditions. The successful deployment of our DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules in these pioneering projects not only demonstrates our technological leadership but also our dedication to supporting sustainable energy developments worldwide.”

Conclusion

The successful implementation of JA Solar’s DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules in Tibet’s large-scale animal husbandry and PV projects marks a significant milestone in the field of renewable energy. By harmonizing advanced technology with ecological and agricultural practices, JA Solar is leading the way towards a more sustainable future.
