Solar Energy Enhances Gwadar Fish Harbor
The Chinese Consulate General in Karachi has installed solar panels in Gwadar’s Padi Zar Marine Drive Fish Landing Area. This initiative provides lighting for nighttime fishing, enhancing the safety of fishermen and their boats. The solar energy project has significantly improved the harbor’s appearance and security.
Solar Technology Transforms Fishing Operations
The Gwadar Fish Harbor, the city’s largest fish market, now benefits from solar lighting. Hundreds of fishermen bring their catches to auction daily. With the new solar lights, the harbor area is brightly illuminated, much like the Padi Zar Marine Drive. This development offers great convenience to both fishermen and visitors, ensuring safer and more efficient operations.
Expanding Solar Energy Benefits
Solar lights have also been installed on Ward Bridge, Guzrwan Bridge, and Doria Bridge. These installations provide essential lighting for fishermen navigating to sea and securing their boats. The extended reach of this project demonstrates the broad impact of solar energy on Gwadar’s fishing community.
Strengthening Gwadar-China Relations
Fisherman Elahi Baksh praised the Chinese Consul General in Karachi for consistently supporting the fishermen’s welfare. He noted the Consulate’s assistance during natural calamities and its ongoing provision of fishing gear, nets, engines, and rations. This support underscores the strong relationship between the people of Gwadar and China.
“The solar lights in the District Civil Hospital also demonstrate this commitment, ensuring reliable lighting for medical facilities,” Baksh added.
The solar panel project by the Chinese Consulate General exemplifies the practical benefits of solar energy and strengthens Gwadar’s ties with China. This initiative not only promotes sustainable energy but also enhances the quality of life for local fishermen and their communities.
