Guwahati’s Inaugural Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicle Expo Takes Center Stage

Guwahati marked a significant milestone with the commencement of the first-ever ‘Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicle Expo’ at the Sarusajai stadium. Organized by the Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER), the expo, running until January 23, features over 70 exhibitors unveiling cutting-edge advancements in renewable energy and electric vehicles.

Innovations on Display

Entrepreneur Anguvika Yepthomi, founder of Nagaland-based startup Aboriginal Energy, showcased an innovative street lighting system called ‘Bamboo Solar.’ The system utilizes locally sourced bamboo poles instead of conventional metallic poles, offering a cost-effective and indigenous solution. Yepthomi highlighted the lightweight and cost-efficient nature of bamboo, making it an ideal choice for remote areas.

Addressing Regional Needs

The ‘Bamboo Solar’ initiative addresses the specific needs of people residing in remote areas of the country. Traditional streetlights with iron poles are heavy and expensive, making bamboo a sustainable alternative, readily available not only in Nagaland but throughout the entire northeast region.

Beyond Guwahati: Wildlife Photography Exhibition and Agri Machinery Expo

Meanwhile, in Belagavi, a wildlife photography exhibition by Kiran Kulkarni showcased 85 skillfully captured wildlife photos at Varerkar Hall, Tilakwadi. Proceeds from photo sales will be donated to the Rotary Club of Belgaum South for charitable purposes.

In Ludhiana, the 4th India Agri Progress Expo (IAPE) recently concluded, drawing thousands of visitors. The expo highlighted AI technology and modernized equipment in agriculture machinery and dairy technology.

Simultaneously, Ludhiana hosted the 8th edition of the GMMSA exhibition, featuring participation from over 200 companies worldwide. The exhibition on Bahadur Ke Road, Jalandhar Bypass, focuses on showcasing modern machines to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-cutting in the textile industry. Orders can be placed until January 22, ensuring a platform for industry players to explore and adopt the latest technologies.
