Engie Embarks on 37.2 MWp Solar Park Development in Southern Romania

Engie Romania has officially commenced the construction of a substantial photovoltaic (PV) park boasting a total capacity of 37.2 MWp in Ariceștii Rahtivani commune, Prahova county.

Expansive Project Details

The solar park, spanning 57 hectares, is slated for completion and operation in 2024, contributing significantly to Romania’s renewable energy landscape. Anticipated to produce around 57 GWh/year, this venture aligns with Engie’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

Continued Growth in Renewable Portfolio

Engie’s foray into solar energy isn’t new. In 2023, the company initiated a parallel project in Gemenele, Brăila county, with an installed capacity of 9.3 MWp. The Engie Romania Group already boasts ownership of four photovoltaic parks, totaling 24 MWp, situated in Arad, Buzău, Harghita, and Teleorman counties. Additionally, two wind farms, boasting a combined capacity of 98 MWp, are operational in Brăila and Galați counties.
