The collaboration aims to roll out four new solar projects in the Portland area, collectively capable of generating 17 million kilowatt hours of clean energy annually. Sustainable Power for Portland Communities
In adherence to Oregon’s Community Solar Program, these projects will cater to a diverse range of subscribers, including commercial, residential, and low-income segments. Participants will benefit from reduced electricity costs through credits on their bills, alongside receiving Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Notably, Collins Aerospace’s Wilsonville facility will anchor the commercial allocation, underscoring the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

Craig Brown, the site leader for Collins Aerospace in Wilsonville, expressed the company’s dedication to reducing carbon emissions. Through this partnership, Collins aims to slash over 1,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to removing 250 gasoline-powered cars from the roads for a year. Furthermore, over 80% of the Wilsonville plant’s electricity will now stem from community solar projects, reinforcing Collins Aerospace’s sustainability endeavors.
