Residents of villages in the municipality of Sredets, including Dyulevo, Orlintsi, Suhodol, and Svetlina, voiced their opposition to the construction of a photovoltaic park. Protesters gathered in front of the Palace of Justice in Burgas, expressing concerns about the project’s detrimental effects on the region’s agricultural sectors.

Burgas Regional Governor Reverses Municipal Council Decision

Burgas Regional Governor Plamen Yanev intervened, overturning the decision of the Sredets Municipal Council. Yanev deemed the changes in land status, intended for the photovoltaic park, as illegal. He emphasized the lack of detailed examination of the investment intention and the absence of economic justification for the project.

Controversy Over Planned Photovoltaic Park

The proposed photovoltaic park, spanning over 800 hectares in Dyulevo, Orlintsi, Suhodol, and Svetlina villages, faces heightened scrutiny and opposition due to concerns about its potential adverse impact on the local environment and agricultural activities.
