CATL Unveils Breakthrough TENER Energy Storage System at ees Europe 2024

Revolutionary Solar Technology Showcased

On June 19, CATL introduced TENER, the world’s first mass-producible energy storage system with zero degradation in the first five years. This groundbreaking technology debuted at ees Europe, the premier exhibition for batteries and energy storage systems.

Advanced Technology and Performance

The TENER energy storage system maintains zero degradation in power and capacity over five years. It achieves this through advanced bionic SEI and self-assembling electrolyte technologies. These innovations ensure long-term stability and safety by addressing lithium metal reactivity and thermal runaway risks. Utilizing CATL’s L-series cells, TENER boasts a 6.25 MWh capacity in a 20-foot container. This design enhances energy density per unit area by 30% and reduces the overall station footprint by 20%.

CATL has also implemented a dedicated, end-to-end quality management system for TENER. This system includes technology development, proof testing, operation monitoring, and safety failure analysis. AI-powered risk monitoring and early warning measures continuously optimize the system’s safety design goals.

Global Partnerships and Market Impact

Perry Kuiper, SVP Sales of Sustainable Power Solutions at Rolls-Royce Power Systems, announced a strategic cooperation with CATL. This partnership aims to bring the innovative TENER product line to the European Union and the United Kingdom. “This partnership underscores our commitment to delivering cutting-edge, reliable, and efficient energy storage solutions,” Kuiper said.

Marco Roeleveld, CEO of Alfen, praised the TENER product. “The TENER product represents a leap forward in battery technology. It offers enhanced performance, efficiency, and sustainability,” Roeleveld noted.

CATL’s extensive global network supports over 700 service stations. This robust infrastructure ensures seamless supply chain management, customized solutions, and continuous technical support for each partner.

Commitment to Sustainability and Community

CATL’s commitment extends beyond providing energy solutions. The company actively supports community well-being and sustainable development. In 2023, CATL donated 1.5 million forints for a medical salt room in Debrecen, 20,000 euros to the Pediatric Clinic of the University of Debrecen, and 30,000 euros for treating a Hungarian boy with a genetic disease.

Recognizing the importance of nurturing future talent, CATL partnered with the Vocational Training Center in Debrecen in 2024. This initiative aligns vocational training with industry needs, ensuring the development of highly qualified professionals.

Environmental stewardship is a cornerstone of CATL’s ethos. In 2023, the company helped plant 4,800 trees in Thuringia, enhancing biodiversity and supporting forest resilience.

CATL’s unwavering commitment to sustainability fosters a future where technological progress harmoniously intertwines with environmental and social prosperity. Their efforts in the solar energy market and energy storage technology drive significant advancements towards a greener future.
