Major Solar Energy Investment in Texas
Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) announced that its subsidiary, e-STORAGE, will deliver a 498 MWh standalone battery energy storage system for Aypa Power’s Bypass Project in Texas. Scheduled for completion in Q3 2025, this project will bolster energy storage and grid resilience in the greater Houston area.
Advanced Lithium Battery Technology
The Bypass Project, located in Fort Bend County near Thompsons, Texas, will use 106 units of e-STORAGE’s latest SolBank 3.0 battery energy storage solution. Each SolBank unit provides 5 MWh of energy capacity within a 20-foot container. The system features high-density lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cells, a balancing battery management system, and a liquid cooling thermal management system for enhanced efficiency, safety, and reliability.
After commercial integration, e-STORAGE will support the project under a Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA).
