Armstrong World Industries Unveils Energy-Efficient Ultima® Templok® Ceiling Panels

AWI introduces innovative ceiling panels to reduce energy costs and consumption, marking a significant step towards sustainable building solutions.

Revolutionary Ultima® Templok® Ceiling Panels

Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has announced the launch of Ultima® Templok®, a groundbreaking ceiling product designed to cut energy usage in commercial buildings. Featuring mineral fiber ceiling panels integrated with phase change material (PCM), Ultima® Templok® not only reduces energy costs but also enhances thermal comfort within spaces.

CEO Vic Grizzle Emphasizes Environmental Impact

AWI’s CEO and President, Vic Grizzle, highlights the increasing demand for energy-saving solutions in buildings, which contribute to nearly 40% of global energy use. The Ultima® Templok® panels, equipped with PCM technology, aim to lower energy consumption and carbon emissions by reducing heating and cooling costs. Grizzle envisions these panels as a catalyst for increased replacement and renovation activities, aligning with customers’ financial and environmental goals.

Acquisition of Templok Business and Technology

The development of Ultima® Templok® was facilitated by AWI’s recent acquisition of the Templok business and certain assets from Insolcorp, LLC, a PCM technology company. The integration of PCM technology into AWI’s ceiling panels enables the absorption and release of heat, regulating room temperature and achieving up to 15% energy cost and consumption reduction, as validated in lab tests.

Driving Sustainable Innovations in Building Solutions

AWI, with its $1.2 billion revenue in 2022, stands as a leader in designing and manufacturing innovative ceiling and wall system solutions. The Ultima® Templok® launch reinforces the company’s commitment to driving sustainable innovations in the construction industry.
