Adani Total Gas and Flipkart Collaborate to Decarbonize Supply Chain

Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL) and Flipkart have officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on reducing carbon emissions in Flipkart’s supply chain.

A Green Partnership

Adani TotalEnergies E-Mobility Ltd (ATEL), a subsidiary of ATGL, will spearhead the deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across Flipkart’s pan-India supply chain, including warehouses and logistics locations.

Decarbonizing E-Commerce Logistics

This strategic partnership aims to significantly impact the e-commerce logistics segment, which presently handles over eight million shipments daily. ATGL believes that with the growing economy, this figure is set to rise, necessitating well-considered solutions to mitigate associated carbon emissions.

Aligned with Climate Action Goals

India, at COP 26, committed to climate action goals, emphasizing reducing carbon intensity and achieving net-zero targets. Flipkart, along with other Indian e-commerce giants, is aligned with these goals and views decarbonizing transportation as a crucial step towards achieving sustainability targets.

ATGL’s Commitment to Clean Energy

Co-promoted by the Adani Group and France’s TotalEnergies, ATGL is dedicated to constructing India’s next-generation energy infrastructure. The company aims to provide cleaner energy solutions across residential, commercial, industrial, and transportation sectors.

“We are fully committed to providing clean energy solutions to our customers and to help them achieve their decarbonization goals, thus actively contributing towards India’s climate action goals,” stated Suresh P Manglani, executive director and CEO of Adani Total Gas.

Flipkart’s Sustainability Vision

Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and Re-commerce at Flipkart Group, expressed their commitment to a sustainable future. He emphasized integrating cleaner energy solutions and introducing electric vehicles in their logistics as key components of Flipkart’s larger sustainability vision.

“Through shared vision and collective action, we believe this collaboration with Adani Total Gas Limited will play an important role in supporting our efforts to achieve our net-zero goals and in catalyzing the complete electrification of our fleet,” said Mr. Badri.

This collaboration aligns with the global push for sustainability and represents a significant stride toward reducing the carbon footprint in India’s e-commerce landscape.
