Nextracker’s All-Terrain Solar Trackers Chosen for Strategic Renewable Energy Project
Global solar solutions provider Nextracker (Nasdaq: NXT) has been selected by ACWA Power and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) for their Al Kahfah Solar Power Plant in Saudi’s Central Province. The 1.17 GW installation is a crucial part of the National Renewable Energy Program, aligning with Vision 2030 and the Ministry of Energy’s goal to achieve 50% renewables in the energy mix by 2030.
Nextracker’s Advanced Solar Tracker Technology
The Al Kahfah project will feature Nextracker’s all-terrain tracker NX Horizon-XTR™, designed for challenging terrains, reducing the need for costly land grading. L&T, the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor, is responsible for the project’s development.
Milestone Deployment in MEIA Solar Energy Market
This deployment represents Nextracker’s largest order of its NX Horizon-XTR solar tracker technology in a single project, contributing to its commitment to the Middle East, India, and Africa (MEIA) solar energy market. With over 10 GW of smart solar trackers across the region, Nextracker is a key player in advancing solar technology in the rapidly expanding market.
Local Partnerships and Commitment to Saudi’s Renewable Goals
Nextracker has extended its domestic content and capacity development program in Saudi Arabia, engaging local partners for raw materials and manufacturing support. The company previously collaborated with ACWA Power and L&T on the Sudair Solar PV Plant (906 MW).
Dan Shugar, Nextracker founder and CEO, expressed confidence in Nextracker’s contribution to the Al Kahfah plant, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the energy transition. ACWA Power CEO, Marco Arcelli, highlighted the importance of technology partnerships, while Bharathi Kumar, General Manager of Larsen & Toubro Construction, commended Nextracker’s flexibility and efficiency in solar tracking systems.
This strategic collaboration reinforces the commitment to advancing solar technology, meeting renewable energy goals, and contributing to the region’s sustainable energy future.
