Teledyne e2v HiRel, a leader in high-reliability semiconductor solutions, has entered a strategic partnership with Flip Electronics. This collaboration is set to ensure a steady supply of critical semiconductor components for military and space applications by addressing the challenges of obsolescence in the industry.
Flip Electronics Secures Key Semiconductor Inventory
As part of the agreement, Flip Electronics will maintain substantial inventories of Teledyne e2v HiRel’s semiconductor wafers. Specifically, Flip has secured the remaining stock of WS57C291 UV EPROM wafers, originally produced by Waferscale Integration, Inc./STMicroelectronics. These wafers are integral to building multiple DLA-qualified Standard Microcircuit Drawing (SMD) parts, critical for military-grade applications.
Mitigating Obsolescence Risks in High-Reliability Devices
The partnership aims to fortify the supply chain by ensuring that these high-reliability semiconductor devices remain available, despite the increasing risk of component obsolescence. Both Teledyne e2v HiRel and Flip Electronics are committed to meeting the stringent demands of their military and space sector customers, ensuring continuous and reliable access to essential components.
