Kehua’s Energy Storage Solution Propels Bulgaria’s Largest BESS Project

The 25 MW / 55 MWh utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) in Razlog Municipality, Southwestern Bulgaria, has commenced commercial operations. This milestone marks Bulgaria’s largest BESS project to date, developed by Kehua, a global leader in PV and ESS solutions, and Solarpro, the largest energy EPC company in Eastern Europe.

Project Overview

The Razlog BESS project boasts a capacity of 25 MW / 55 MWh. Kehua supplied the BCS3450K-B-HUD/T PCS and MV transformer integrated solution. The project, co-located with a 33 MWp PV plant, integrates seamlessly into the transmission system operator (TSO) grid. This hybrid solar plus storage project supports various applications, such as peak shaving, frequency modulation, and auxiliary grid connections for new energy systems.

Solarpro’s Expansion Plans

Solarpro plans to replicate the success of the Razlog project across Eastern Europe. Leveraging their expertise, they aim to advance the integration of high-reliability energy storage solutions. This project sets a precedent for the renewable energy sector in the region, highlighting Kehua’s top-of-the-line PCS innovations and Solarpro’s proficiency in hybrid energy projects.

Industry Impact and Future Prospects

The collaborative efforts of industry leaders like Solarpro and Kehua are crucial for creating a sustainable and resilient energy infrastructure. Kehua, as a leading energy storage provider, continues to demonstrate expertise in sustainable energy transition and grid modernization. This project is a significant step towards driving the energy transition and combating climate change.

The Razlog BESS project underscores the importance of solar energy investment and the adoption of advanced solar technology. As the solar energy market evolves, projects like this highlight the potential for energy market trends to shift towards more sustainable solutions. The developments in energy storage and lithium batteries play a vital role in achieving green energy policies and fostering a robust solar market analysis.
