British Gas has announced the extension of its PeakSave offer this summer, providing eligible customers with half-price electricity every Sunday from 9am to 5pm. This initiative, running until September 8, coincides with British Gas’s partnership celebrations with Team GB and ParalympicsGB.
Super Saturdays Included
In addition to Sundays, customers will also benefit from half-price electricity on two designated “super Saturdays” on August 3 and September 7. Catherine O’Kelly, Managing Director of British Gas Energy, emphasized the dual benefits of cost savings and reduced peak-time energy usage.
Enhancing Customer Experience
O’Kelly highlighted the initiative as a means to enhance customer experience during the summer sports season, aligning with the spirit of national events. The scheme aims to alleviate electricity costs while promoting energy conservation during peak periods.
How It Works
To qualify for the savings, households must be British Gas customers equipped with a smart electricity meter and register for the PeakSave scheme. Following each event, British Gas credits half of the electricity expenditure back to the customer’s account.
Innovative Flexibility
British Gas has also introduced the PeakSave Green Flex scheme, offering customers additional opportunities to save on bills. This includes discounted electricity during periods of high renewable energy availability, such as sunny or windy days, contributing to a greener grid and sustainable energy use.
