Rajasthan’s Ambitious Solar Energy Goals
Rajasthan Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar announced the state government’s commitment to making Rajasthan a leading hub for solar energy production. Speaking at the India Solar Component Expo, organized by the Rajasthan Solar Association at the Rajasthan International Center, Nagar emphasized the state’s efforts to promote solar energy and attract investments in solar technology.
Local Manufacturing and Employment Opportunities
Nagar highlighted the benefits of establishing local solar component manufacturing units. He noted that producing solar panels, cables, and aluminum structures locally will reduce manufacturing costs and create employment opportunities for the state’s youth. This initiative aligns with broader energy market trends and green energy policies aimed at sustainable growth.
Renewable Energy Policy Amendments
The Energy Minister referred to recent amendments in the Renewable Energy Policy-2023 and the Rajasthan Land Revenue Rules, 2007. These changes, approved by the State Cabinet, enable land allocation for solar energy projects at seven and a half percent of the DLC rate. Nagar stated that these amendments will harness Rajasthan’s abundant solar radiation, fostering investment and employment in the solar energy market.
Significant Investments in Power Infrastructure
Nagar revealed that proposals worth Rs 10,000 crore are being prepared under the RDSS scheme to strengthen the state’s power system. This investment will support the construction of new 33/11 kV grid substations and feeder improvements, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply to consumers. This substantial solar energy investment will boost Rajasthan’s position in the global energy storage and lithium batteries market.
By focusing on solar energy developments, Rajasthan aims to become a central player in the solar energy market, driving energy storage innovations and supporting sustainable energy market trends.
