Adani Green Energy Signs 20-Year Power-Purchase Pact with Sri Lanka

Adani Green Energy Ltd. has finalized a 20-year power-purchase agreement with the Sri Lankan government to establish two wind power stations in the northern provinces of Mannar and Punarin.

Strengthening Renewable Energy Infrastructure

According to a report by the official news portal, the electricity generated by these wind power stations will be priced at 8.26 cents per kilowatt hour. This collaboration underscores a significant investment in Sri Lanka’s renewable energy sector.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

Adani Green Energy’s approval last year to develop wind power plants in Sri Lanka for $442 million marked a crucial step towards enhancing the nation’s renewable energy capacity. Additionally, the Adani Group’s plan to invest $750 million in the renewable energy segment further demonstrates its commitment to sustainable development in Sri Lanka.

This long-term power-purchase pact signifies a strategic partnership between Adani Green Energy and the Sri Lankan government, aiming to drive economic growth while promoting environmentally-friendly energy solutions.
