Acquisition of Eight Ground-Mounted Solar Projects
Aspen Power, a distributed generation platform focused on advancing decarbonization, has announced the acquisition of eight ground-mounted solar projects spanning Pennsylvania and New York State. These projects, totaling over 41 megawatts of direct current (MWdc) projects, were acquired from Solar Site Developers.
Project Details and Development Stage
The acquired projects are currently in the engineering design stage, with construction set to commence in the coming months. The Pennsylvania projects will operate under the state’s Alternative Energy Portfolio Standard Act, while the New York projects will offer bill credits to utility customers through the Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) program.
Commitment to Decarbonization
Dan Gulick, Senior Vice President of Community Solar at Aspen Power, expressed pride in collaborating with Solar Site Developers to advance decarbonization efforts. He emphasized the significance of expanding Aspen Power’s portfolios in Pennsylvania and New York to achieve gigawatt-scale goals in the near future.
Advantages of Solar Projects
Aspen Power collaborates with early-stage developers to accelerate the adoption of clean, renewable energy while providing landowners with recurring revenues. Hosting solar projects enables property owners to utilize their land for renewable energy generation and receive regular payments, contributing to the nation’s renewable energy objectives.
