Major CEOs Back Gujarat’s Green Future

The Tenth Vibrant Gujarat Summit witnessed a wave of major investments from CEOs representing global and domestic giants. Adani Group, Suzuki, Reliance, Tatas, and Simmtech Korea jointly announced substantial plans for advanced and green technologies, signaling a robust commitment to Gujarat’s burgeoning green tech landscape.

Suzuki’s Comprehensive Gujarat Expansion

Suzuki Motor Corporation detailed an expansive growth strategy in Gujarat, including the production of electric vehicles (EVs) for worldwide sales. The plan encompasses the launch of a second car plant and the establishment of four biogas production plants using cow dung, in collaboration with NDDB and Banas Dairy.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, disclosed a monumental investment of Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat, generating over one lakh direct and indirect jobs. This comes on the heels of the group’s previous commitment of Rs 55,000 crore by 2025. The Adani Group is set to establish the world’s largest green energy park and expand the green supply chain.

Semiconductor and Industrial Progress in Gujarat

Jeffre Chun, CEO of Simtech South Korea, announced a strategic co-location project near Micron’s upcoming semiconductor plant, enhancing India’s semiconductor supply chain. Tata Sons Chairman, N Chandrasekaran, shared progress on negotiations for a significant semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, further solidifying the state’s role in semiconductor manufacturing. Tata Group is also expanding its presence by enhancing the electric vehicle production line in Sanand.

DP World’s CEO Ahmed bin Sulayem declared a $3 billion investment over the next three years, featuring a state-of-the-art terminal at Kandhla with a handling capacity of two million containers. This investment emphasizes DP World’s significant presence in Gujarat since 2003.

Mukesh Ambani’s Green Commitments for Gujarat

Mukesh Ambani, head of the Ambani Group, pledged to source half of the corporate’s renewable energy needs from Gujarat by 2030. Additionally, the Reliance Foundation is set to collaborate on India’s bid to host the 2036 Olympics, showcasing the conglomerate’s dedication to sustainability and national development.

This influx of investments positions Gujarat as a frontrunner in the global green technology arena, with strategic partnerships and innovations propelling the state toward a sustainable and technologically advanced future.
