Asharami Energy Senegal, a subsidiary of the Sahara Group, has successfully implemented a solar-powered energy solution at the Daaray Serigne Saliou Mbacke orphanage, leading to significant savings of up to 500,000 CFA in monthly electricity expenses.
Empowering a Foremost Orphanage
The Daaray Serigne Saliou Mbacke orphanage, situated in Kounoune, is a prominent institution providing a home to over 100 children. The solar solution project, carried out in collaboration with the Sahara Foundation, aligns with Sahara Group’s dedication to promoting clean and sustainable energy across its global locations.
Cutting-Edge Solar Technology Implementation
Asharami Energy Senegal, known for delivering top-notch energy solutions, installed 24 solar panels and 24 solar-powered batteries. This advanced system efficiently powers all electrical appliances in the orphanage, including air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
According to Nana Yaw Asare Adu, the Country Manager of Asharami Energy, this initiative not only brings responsible energy to the orphanage but also contributes to creating a conducive environment for learning, fun, and laughter for the children.
Positive Impact on Monthly Bills and Facility Operations
The solar solution has resulted in a remarkable reduction of more than 500,000 CFA in monthly electricity bills for the orphanage. Awa Diouf, Business Development Officer at Asharami Energy Senegal, emphasized the company’s commitment to transformative projects in Senegal, aiming to enhance social impact and sustainable development in collaboration with the Sahara Foundation and other stakeholders.
Gratitude and Future Prospects
Ndeye Awa Sadio, the founder of Daaray Serigne Saliou Mbacke orphanage, expressed gratitude to Asharami Energy Senegal and the Sahara Foundation for the impactful project. The solar solution not only relieves the orphanage of electricity expenses but also provides an opportunity to allocate funds to crucial operational requirements, ultimately shaping a brighter future for the children.
In a statement, Sadio remarked, “Access to more power can only mean wings to the aspirations of our children and excellent service delivery in our facility. We are excited about the future of our orphanage and its capacity to shape the lives of the children we serve. Thank you so much, Asharami Energy Senegal.”
